New Accessories from knog, Timbuk2 and others
This week we received a smokin’ hot shipment of lights, gloves and cycle computers from knog in addition to several of the latest messenger bags from Timbuk2 (including the Dolores-Chiller), Fox gloves and long boards from Kahuna Creations with Big Sticks to match.

Riverwalk Bicycle Rental Hut Update
If you have done any riding (or running) along Tampa’s downtown Riverwalk this week, you may have noticed that the fencing below the Franklin Street / Harbour Island bridge, between the Waterside Marriott and the Tampa Convention Center has been modified on its Southwest corner. Those changes were completed to accommodate City Bike Tampa’s Riverwalk Bicycle Rental Hut set to open in Mid-November 2009.
If you haven’t seen it yet, we strongly urge you to do a ride-by this weekend. We plan to have the “construction” side of things done down there next week and will begin stocking it with bikes, etc. the following week. New canvas mesh will be hung just prior to our grand opening of this City Bike expansion. Check back soon for updates.

Tampa Bay Lightning Go Green Night
If you ride your bicycle to the St Pete Times forum this Thursday night for the Lightning vs. San Jose Sharks game, you will get in free.

Still don’t have a bike? Come in and see us…we just took in a new shipment from Jamis over the weekend and have several more on the way that will hit the sales floor by this Wednesday (just in time).
Interested in bicycling to the game but just realized your bicycles aren’t in full riding condition? Bring your bike in for a Basic Safety Check and get your brakes, derailleurs, headset and other essential components adjusted along with tire inflation and a general inspection for just $19.95 (any necessary parts will be extra). Don’t forget, City Bike Tampa will pick your bike up for free when you schedule an appointment online and you live in the 33602, 33609, 33611 or 33606 zip codes.
Safety tip: If you are planning on bicycling to the game, remember that lights are required when riding at night (see section 8). We’ve got a great selection to offer from Topeak, Planet Bike and others.
And don’t forget to bring your lock on Thursday night (if you still need one, we’ve got those too)!
New this Week – Carrie Baskets from Design House Stockholm
Several weeks ago a friend of a friend (we’ll call her “Kim”) stopped in to show off the kewl new basked she had on the front of her bike. I thought it was a little on the “girlie” side, but it was cool none the less. It also appeared to be well made and very functional considering it could be lifted off and carried via its own heavy duty adjustable shoulder strap.
A day or two later, “Kim” called the shop insisting that I figure out where to get these baskets and start stocking them immediately (because all of her friends were asking her where she got hers and how they could get their hands on one).
Well…the day has finally arrived. This week we received a shipment of Carrie Baskets by Marie-Louise Gustafsson all the way from Design House Stockholm. We currently have several in stock in each color (black , white and green) and to top it all off…for this week only they are priced below MSRP.
